Vadodara (Gujarat): "We only went to discuss some issues with them, I can support BJP but I can never join them officially," says India's first gay prince of Rajpipla, Gujarat, Manvendra Singh Gohil.

He added, "I and my NGO workers had met Mr Vijay Shah, president of Vadodara BJP to discuss some unresolved issues. In this meeting, they rewarded me with a scarf, but that does not imply that I have joined BJP. People have this misunderstanding that hundreds of my NGO workers have signed the form and joined the BJP to contest in the upcoming elections, but that is not true at all. To join Vadodara BJP I should first have the voter ID of this city which I do not have. Therefore I can never join Vadodara BJP."

Only a few days ago there was news that Prince Manvendra Singh, along with his NGO workers has joined the BJP. However, after 3 days of this announcement, he has taken this U-Turn which has once again made Gujarat elections more controversial.
