Valsad: A former nurse has died of Covid just two days before her wedding in Valsad. Manishaben, the daughter of Dilip Patel, resident of Motapondha of Kaparda taluka of the district, worked as a nurse in a hospital in Vapi’s Gunjan locality. She had given up her job to stay at home. Her father had fixed her daughter’s marriage at Rakholi in Silvasa on April 23. However, she suddenly fell ill and was admitted to a private hospital in Silvasa, where she died ironically on the day of her ‘Haldi’ ceremony.

As the marriage date had been fixed, the family had already sent invitation cards to friends and relatives. However, everyone from both the bride and groom side became concerned when she suddenly fell ill. They were deeply worried after she started showing symptoms of COVID-19. She was admitted to a private hospital in Silvasa. During her treatment, a life-saving injection was required and some of the family members left for Surat to get it. But the ailing woman died even before they could return with the injection.

The families of both Manisha and her would-be groom are shocked with grief over her death just two days before the marriage ceremony. Talking to ETV Bharat, the family members of Manisha said no one should take COVID-19 lightly as it is a deadly disease. They advised all to follow social distancing and not to venture out of their homes unless for some urgent work.
