Ahmedabad (Gujarat): The government of Gujarat has lifted a few restrictions imposed to control the pandemic and the move has been welcomed by the business community.
With the opening up of the markets, people turned out in large numbers bringing relief to roadside vendors, tea stalls, and small and medium-sized traders.
Gandhinagar: Meena Bazar opens
Businesses have been allowed to remain open throughout Gujarat from Friday 9 am till noon. However, gyms, swimming pools, and spas will remain closed.

Vadodara: Traders want shops to stay open till 7 pm
Vadodara Vepar Vikas Association, which had demanded a complete lockdown, has opposed the government’s decision to impose partial restrictions. Honest traders had closed their shops while some others had been carrying out their businesses clandestinely, which was objected to by the law-abiding traders. There was mixed reaction among the traders to the government’s decision to impose partial restrictions.
Rajkot: Long lines at beauty parlours
Long lines of women were seen at beauty parlors in Rajkot on Friday. According to reports, nearly 15,000 women had made appointments with the beauty parlors. Beauty parlors and saloons had remained closed for months in the city.

The government had ordered the closure of all businesses other than vegetable shops, groceries, medicine stores, milk booths, and other essential commodities in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Jamnagar: Paan-tobacco shops open
Paan and tobacco shops in Jamnagar have begun doing roaring business after the lifting of the restrictions. There was a rush of customers at the paan shops - including Munnabhai, Jamnagar's most famous pan shop - as the markets opened.
