Ahmedabad (Gujarat): The condition of Congress in Gujarat is deteriorating day by day. In these circumstances, the responsibility has been handed over to Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma as the in-charge of Gujarat Pradesh Congress.
However, the Congress high command has not yet commented on the leadership. Even after the defeat of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, the same enthusiasm is seen in the Congress to win. The Congress will enter the fray with a new strategy and win 125 seats, said Gujarat Pradesh Congress Working President Hardik Patel.
Question: What is the thinking of the Congress after its defeat in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation elections?
Answer: We have already said that the BJP is doing everything from funding third parties to providing facilities to those who are dissatisfied with the Bharatiya Janata Party so that their votes do not go to Congress. The result was a split vote and the BJP won. I have already said that it's only the Congress party that has the capacity to fight against the BJP regime here. The Congress should agitate on various issues of the people, work to bring justice to the people, convey the issues of the people to the people in the form of a big movement. After self-reflection in whatever the outcome of the Gandhinagar election is, we will constantly try to overcome the problem of the people, in the interest of the people. And I am confident that the blessings of the people will bring a wave of change.
Question: ETV BHARAT also analysed the result of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and if the Aam Aadmi Party had not contested this election, the Congress would have won 23 out of 44 seats, so the Aam Aadmi Party has worked to cut the votes of the Congress, which you are saying. But what strategy will you use in the 2022 Assembly elections to prevent this from happening again?

Answer: After the results of the Gandhinagar elections, the people of Gujarat now know that if we vote for a third party, the BJP will win. That is why in the days to come, the love of the people of Gujarat will remain towards the Congress and it will grow and apart from this love we (Congress) have to work properly at the ground level, at the rural level, at the booth level. For the last 3-4 months, we have been working to reach out to the public on issues like Covid Nyay Yatra, unemployment issue, farmers issue. The Corona pandemic was said to have killed 10,000 people, but when we went to the public, we found out that 3 lakh people have died. Through Nyay (Justice) Yatra, we have reached 50 thousand families. And in the next few days, we will reach 2 lakh families, if we stay with the people, we will surely get their love.
Question: As far as Corona is concerned, if the performance of the Rupani government during the second wave of Corona was not satisfactory, then the BJP high command changed the entire cabinet including the CM, what would you say about this issue?
Answer: After the BJP has changed the CM, the people of Gujarat have decided that the only change is in 2022. The mood of the masses is against power. Now we have to raise the issue of public interest. The word of the people is to be conveyed to the government. So I think the decision of the people is right that the power is to change.
Question: You have very little time. Doesn't the Congress High Command decide the name of the state president or leader of the opposition? So why and how will change come?
Answer: The job of the party high command is to decide the party president and the name of the Leader of the Opposition. Our job is to connect the organization, that's what we're all doing. Soon the people of Gujarat will get a very good and strong organization of the Congress. Which will preserve the values of Gandhi and Sardar.

Question: When ETV BHARAT interviewed Jignesh Mewani last week, he said that the trio of Jignesh, Hardik and Alpesh had made a splash in the 2017 elections, winning 77 seats. Jignesh Mewani is to join Congress, and will Alpesh Thakor join the Congress now? And what will be the strategy of the Congress now?
Answer: In the 2022 elections, the people of Gujarat will fight against the BJP. We welcome any youth, unemployed, farmers, women, backward class who want to fight against BJP.
Question: How many seats are you aiming to win in Gujarat Assembly elections?
Answer: We will come to power with a two-third majority, our target is to win 125 seats.
