Delhi resident sets out to honour policemen with roses

Bali from Hiranki village along with his friend on a bike has set out on this journey with roses and placard that says 'Delhi thanks the police.' Bali adds that he would travel from his village to Delhi Police Headquarters and will thank every policeman he comes across on the way.

New Delhi: Following the Republic day riots between protesting farmers and Delhi police at the capital, a local resident has taken the initiative of honouring, encouraging and thanking the men in Khaki by giving them rose and garlands.

Bali from Hiranki village along with his friend on a bike has set out on this journey with roses and placard that says 'Delhi thanks the police.'

Bali adds that he would travel from his village to Delhi Police Headquarters and will thank every policeman he comes across on the way.

"Movements keep happening and even then the policemen carry out their duty with restraint and courage and will continue to do so in future. There also have been disturbances in the name of the movement, but policemen, regardless of their lives perform their duty, and I want to thank them," Bali says.

According to the police, more than 300 policemen were injured in the violence, which took place mostly in and around Mukarba Chowk, Gazipur, ITO, Seemapuri, Nangloi T-Point, Tikri Border and the Red Fort.
