New Delhi: A woman, who was beaten up with a belt by Faridabad Police personnel at a park last year, went missing from her home last October, weeks after the assault.
A video had emerged three days ago, showing the assault, which took place on October 4, last year. The over four-minute-long video features the woman being interrogated by three policemen, with one of them hitting her with a belt for not sharing information.
The woman is heard pleading that she does not have any other information on the subject. But the policemen refuse to believe her and hit her. The accused have been arrested and sacked.
When the media tried to talk to the family of the missing victim, they refused to say anything at all.
According to Mundkati police station in-charge, ASI Sher Singh, this is the third time the victim has gone missing, and each time a police FIR was filed. The first time she went missing was on October 10, 2017.
“She was found within a few days at that time, wandering around in the area where her family resides. She was reunited with her family but left home again in July 2018,” he said.
An FIR was registered, by the victim's family members at Hodal police station, on October, 28. The Police, have been looking for her after a video, showing the assault went viral.
