New Delhi: The Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP's) quarantine facility camp at Chhawla turned to be a centre for bondings amongst people who landed here from China following the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus.
As many as 112 people including foreigners who were quarantined for last 14-days, are here to remember the hospitality and treatment provided by the medicos and other staff of the central armed police force, forever.
Shanta, Razia and Tumpa from Bangladesh are amongst those 121 people who were quarantined here.
"We have experienced very well hospitality and treatment from the people here. The officials here have taken care of our basic requirements. They were like our family members," said Shanta, a marketing student at Zingman University of Hubai province.
Echoing the same view, Razia, another girl from Bangladesh said that the Chhawla camp became her home for the last 14 days.
"Following the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus in China, we were informed that the Indian government is sending a flight to evacuate people. We approached the Indian Embassy in China and we were allowed to take the flight...on the other hand, the Chinese government did not help us," recall Razia. She is also studying marketing at Zingman University.
India has evacuated 36 foreign nationals from China on February 27 following requests from the government of Bangladesh, Myanmar, Maldives, Madagascar among others.
All the 121 people quarantined at the Chhawla camp have been taken care of their food, health and other basic requirements.
"We always tried to provide good quality and fresh food to the people who have come from China. We provided them with vegetarian food...We have also taken maximum precautions that while having food they maintain maximum hygiene," said GD Sunil Kumar from the catering department of ITBP.
