Delhi rains: Waterlogging of roads forces people to use bullock carts

Waterlogging in several areas of the national capital due to heavy rains affected the movement of traffic in the city on Sunday. People were seen using bullock carts to commute. Delhi received its first spell of heavy rains this morning which inundated low-lying areas.

Delhi: Morning showers in the city waterlogged major arterial roads leading to traffic snarls on Sunday.

People were seen using bullock carts to go from one place to another.

Traffic police officers said that waterlogging was mainly reported from the low-lying areas and the stretches where construction work in taking places.

The movement of vehicles was hampered due to waterlogging at in areas like Bharthal Chowk on Dwarka Link Road, Wazirabad Road, Apsara roundabout, Mandoli and Rajokri flyover.

A spate of incidents was reported in the national capital as several areas were waterlogged.

It is to be noted that Delhi received its first spell of heavy rains on Sunday morning with 74.8 mm rainfall.
