The issue of giving ownership to the residents of unauthorised colonies in New Delhi have already created a political controversy with Aam Admi Party (AAP) asking residents of unauthorised colonies not to trust the BJP-led centre unless they get registry papers of their houses in their hands.

"More than 40 lakh people will get registry of ownership in the coming days," said Hardeep Singh Puri to ETV Bharat.

He said that dreams of lakhs of people in New Delhi to have their own houses are going to be fulfilled.

Puri said that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has also chalked out an action plan for the proper development of the colonies.

The BJP, however, said that this ownership and registry don't have any connection with the forthcoming Assembly election in Delhi.

"This does not have any connection with the coming Delhi election," said BJP MLA in the Delhi Assembly Vijayendar Gupta to ETV Bharat.

He said that this initiative was taken to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide house to every citizen by 2022.

Conclusion:Earlier, the Union Cabinet had approved the ownership rights to the residents of unauthorised colonies.

Over four million people living across at least 1,700 unauthorised colonies in the national capital are going to get the benefit with the decision.

"I was living in Delhi for last 20 year's, but today I have become the owner of my property," said a beneficiary.

Echoing the same, another beneficiary said that his dream of having a house in Delhi had been fulfilled.

"The government had helped me in getting my own house in Delhi," said another beneficiary.
