New Delhi: Tihar jail in Delhi has constituted a Sentence Review Board (SRB) which will meet this week to decide who should be freed as a gesture of goodwill when India marks Independence Day on Saturday.

The Board will review a list of 159 names and most of them have been serving jail terms longer than the given sentence.

According to sources, among the prisoners up for review are Pakistanis - Abdul Rahim, Naseer Mahmood, Nazir Khan and Amjad Ali who were found guilty of carrying weapons.

Reports say the Pakistani's have spent 23 years in Tihar Jail - which is more than the time they are required to serve.
