New Delhi: The convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape case are to be hanged on the morning of February 1 and a death warrant has also been issued in this concern. Prior to the hangings, Tihar jail authorities have asked them for their last wishes if any.
They have informed that the last wishes will be granted while pertaining to certain legal boundaries.
The wishes that could be granted to the convicts include meeting with their loved ones, transferring property, demand for particular books, or a meeting with their religious or spiritual gurus.
None of the convicts has, however, responded to the authorities in this regard yet.
The Patiala House Court has already issued a death warrant in the Nirbhaya case of December 16, 2012.
Days before the hanging, two of the four convicts have stopped eating in a proper manner. One of them, Vinay, had stopped eating anything at all up to two days after the death warrant was issued.
All four are being constantly watched over by surveillance teams. Security forces are working in shifts to keep an eye on them.
