"Women are very happy. I asked each women if they have obtained the pink single journey pass and I feel delighted to see that almost every woman had the slip. On the ocassion of Bhai Dooj, I feel this is a great gift to all the sisters and mothers by the Chief Minister of Delhi, " said Gahlot while speaking to ETV Bharat.

Gahlot travelled by several Delhi Transport Corportion (DTC) buses to ensure that the scheme was being implemented properly.

"I have been monitoring the development since morning myself to ensure that there is no issue in the implementation of the scheme. Marshalls are deployed in all the buses, and every conductor has a set of pink slips," said the Transport Minister.

When asked about the idea behind the announcement of the unique scheme, Gehlot said,"a scheme as huge as this has never been implemented anywhere across the world. This is a historic step towards women safety."

On opposition leaders pointing out the finacial burden of the scheme, Gahlot said, "The finacial burden of the scheme must be left to the CM to worry about."
