Rashtriya Janata Dal leader (RJD) and the party's national spokesperson Nawal Kishore hit out at the central government for not listening to farmers' demand.

Tents being installed in Nirankari ground by the Delhi government

Tents are being installed at Nirankari ground in Burari by the Delhi government. Temporary toilets and water arrangements have also been made, but the farmers have not yet reached the place. A majority of farmers are still at the Singhu border. Security forces have also been deployed and medicines are also being dispensed for protection from diseases.

Farmers from Punjab and Haryana continue their onward march to Delhi

The Samyukt Kisan movement of AIKSCC, RKMS, BKU (Rajewal), BKU (Chaduni) and other farmers’ organisations have called upon the centre to immediately address the issues of the farmers and solve them, rather than create subterfuges about talks, with no solution in mind.

The statement was made in the combined press release of all the struggling organizations, even as tens of thousands of farmers continued their march into Delhi, surmounting huge obstacles and heavy-handedness by police under the direction of BJP government.

Farmers protesting against agricultural laws arriving at Nirankari Maidan

Farmers protesting against agricultural laws were allowed to protest against the government on Friday at Nirankari Maidan in Burari after which farmers started arriving here on Saturday morning.

Water tankers and temporary toilets have been made available by the Delhi Jal Board here for the farmers. Along with this, their food is also being managed by the government, but the farmers have brought their own food items with them.

The farmer leaders will decide the next phase of this protest. The central government has invited the farmers on December 3 for the second phase of the meeting.

Hoshiarpur farmers who joined farmers' protest against the Farm Bill, 2020 bought with them a mini ambulance for the first aid of those injured during clashes.

The police had on Thursday used tear gas shells and opened water cannons at the farmers, in which a lot of them got injured.

However, no medical facility was made available to them.

A young man with the ambulance said, "Even though no one was there to treat out injured people, we would treat anyone who's injured. Be it policemen or our own."

Sitting with a group of students, Gandhi said that the government should not indulge in any kind of conspiracy against the farmers.

Farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana on Saturday morning started arriving at the Nirankari Samagam Ground on the outskirts of the national capital for a protest against the new farm laws.

After days of a standoff with police and after facing teargas shells, water cannons and barricading on various points on the Delhi-Haryana border by police, the farmers 'Dilli Chalo' march was allowed to enter Delhi on Friday and proceed to the ground in Burari situated in its north-west. The Tikri border was opened up for them.

Braving Delhi's cold, some of the farmers were seen cooking food in the open field this morning.  

"Our protest will continue till the farm laws are not withdrawn. We are here for the long haul," one of the farmers told media. 

Arrangements have been made for the farmers at the ground, by the Delhi Government.

The Delhi Police made an appeal to the farmers to maintain peace and hold a peaceful protest.

Farmers' Union - govt meet at 10 a.m today, to take call on protests

New Delhi: After protesting farmers were granted entry into the national capital on Friday and were invited for a dialogue on December 3, a meeting is scheduled today between the authorities and the unions at 10 a.m today.

Reportedly, in the meeting, a call will be taken whether or not to continue protest at the Nirankari ground at Burari. 

Amid talks of a dialogue, Haryana has opened all the borders adjoining Punjab including Shambhu and Saddopur border in Ambala. Confirming the news, Ambala SP Rajesh Kalia said that now no one will be stopped from travelling between Haryana and Punjab.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Friday welcomed the farmers into the capital and said the government welcomes them. "The Aam Aadmi Party is ready for all possible help of the farmers and stands with them. And if the need arises, is ready to be beaten up along with them too," he said.

Commenting on the issue, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called the Narendra Modi government of the Center arrogant. 

Rahul in his tweet wrote, 'PM should have remembered that whenever ego clashes with the truth, it is defeated. No government in the world can stop the farmers fighting the battle for truth.

The Delhi Police on Wednesday had sought permission from the Delhi government to convert 9 stadiums into a temporary jail, which the government rejected.

Around 30 farmers' unions have come together to protest against the Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 were passed by the Upper House in September through voice vote despite objection from opposition parties.

While the government said the three laws will do away with middlemen, enabling farmers to sell their produce in the commercial markets, protestors fear that this could lead to the government not buying produce at guaranteed prices, thereby disrupting their timely payments.

The protesting farmers have come with complete preparation on the Singhu border of Delhi. The women farmers taking part in the agitation said that they have bought with them ration for up to 6 months in case the protests go on for long. They said they will not back down until the demand of the farmer will not be accepted.

A large number of police forces, RAF and CISF have been deployed on the Chilla border and RAF Tainanoida's Sector 14A Chilla Border in view of a large number of farmers turning up for the agitation.
