Suicide not solution to problems says Baba ka Dhaba owner

After the video of the octogenarian couple went viral life took a new turn for them. Kanta Prasad (Baba) is looking for a person to assist him in catering to the high demand. He has also become a hero for the public as people click selfies with him.

New Delhi: Located in Malviya Nagar in the national capital, a few days ago Baba ka Dhaba, was a name not heard by many, however, after the video of the elderly couple went viral on social media where they both explained their struggle with selling food items at their shop, hundreds of netizens came forward to generously help the couple.

Within no time Baba ka Dhaba became an internet sensation and Kanta Prasad, owner of the Dhaba along with his wife Badami Devi who were facing hardship to survive amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown became internet celebrities.

Kanta Prasad's shop is now filled with posters and banners talking about which he said that these advertisements are both help and publicity but the people do it for their own benefits as now there is hardly any space left for putting up posters.

Small temporary counters of other products like COVID Insurance have also popped up around Baba ka Dhaba.

Baba ka Dhaba is also now listed on Zomato.

People from far away places come to get clicked with Kanta Prasad and the passer-by people also stop and click selfies near the shop.

In an exclusive talk with ETV Bharat, Kanta Prasad the owner of the Dhaba said that as more and more people are coming to his shop and the workload is also increasing, he is looking for a helper to help him with the work.

"I have to get someone to assist me since I can't say no to my customers. At this age, I can't do everything alone. Earlier, I used to struggle to sell 750 grams of rice but now I sell 5 kgs rice in half a day, " he said.

Further talking about the struggle that the couple did in order to survive, Kanta Prasad said that suicide is not the option or solution for any problem rather people should struggle to find their way out through difficulties.

He also said that he no longer needs help and that people should now help other people who are finding it hard to survive.
