Story on 10th Sikh Guru’s Sahibzadas should be taught on Children's day: DSGMC

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has appealed to the Central government to teach the story of the tenth Sikh guru of four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh should be taught on Children's day. The Committee has taken this decision as they think that children should know about the heroic deeds, unparalleled valour and sacrifices made by the sons (Char Sahibzade) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.

New Delhi: The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has appealed to the Central government on Tuesday to teach students about the four Sahibzadas of tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh on Children's Day.

The Committee said that the children should know about the heroic deeds, unparalleled valour and sacrifices made by the sons (Char Sahibzade) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader and President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Manjinder Singh Sirsa while addressing a gathering in gurudwara Damdama Sahib here, said: "The children across the nation must know how courageous and fearful were the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji."

He added, "Not only in Punjabi, but the book should be published in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam and should be taught to them, especially on Children's day."

Sirsa said that students from all across the world should know about four Sahibzadas.

Talking about the sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur, he said, "Everyone knows about the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Teg Bhadur, Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri and it's our responsibility to make the world know about them."

Singh further said, "Because of the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Teg Bhadur, Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri people are surviving today and people all across the world should know. "

Delhi Sikh Committee is using social media platforms to sensitize people of the history of Sahibzadas in Punjabi as well as Hindi.

"We post small videos on the history and sacrifice of sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji."
