New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the Delhi High Court to set up a temporary court at the AIIMS for recording the statement of the Unnao rape survior, who sustained injuries in a recent accident.
The statement of the victim for the purpose of CBI investigation could not be completed. The SC bench comprising of Justices Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose also extended the CBI investigation time period by 2 weeks.
On 1st August, the SC bench led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi had transferred the cases to Delhi and had given time of 45 days to complete the investigation in all cases.
The accident case's investigation was to be completed in a week which was extended by two weeks on 19th august by the SC.
The accident which killed the victim's relatives and injured her and her lawyer critically are said to be a planned attack by the BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar who is accused of raping the victim.
The apex court had directed the UP government to give compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the victim and 5 lakhs to her lawyer for her treatment.The uncle was also moved to Delhi's Tihar jail on the family's request as they feared his life. The girl's father was beaten up inside the jail and had lost his life.
Presently the victim is in AIIMS, Delhi, undergoing treatment.
