"The BJP has realised that it will lose all state elections before it goes to 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The party has adopted means to send all prominent leaders of all rival parties to jail but his party will fight tooth and nail against the BJP government," Rai told reporters.

He also attacked the BJP governemnt for its 'dictatorial attitude' and said the saffron party's arrogance shows its frustration.

"If the Bharatiya Janata Party thinks that it can win elections by using central agencies on the basis of power and imposing dictatorship, then history is the witness that the public gives a reply," Rai said.

He further said the BJP government wants to send Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and all leaders to send in jail but that won't brighten the ruling party's chances to win the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, AAP will hold a protest outside the BJP headquarters at 11 a.m. against the dictatorship and to save the democracy, he said.

"I appeal to all that if you are in favour of democracy, please reach the BJP headquarters at the given time in order to save the constitution and democracy," Rai added. Earlier on Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) escorted AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh from his Delhi residence after arresting him in connection with the now-scrapped liquor policy case.

The arrest came hours after the ED conducted raids at the residence of the AAP Rajya Sabha MP in connection with the case. His was the second high-profile arrest in the case after former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was arrested earlier. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal also condemned Singh's arrest. He said, "The arrest of Sanjay Singh is completely illegal. This shows Modiji's nervousness. They will arrest many more opposition leaders till the elections."

Aam Aadmi Party MP Sushil Gupta on Thursday slammed the central government over the arrest of Sanjay Singh. Gupta said the arrest was simply politics of revenge. “This case has been going on for the past 15 months...This is simply politics of revenge...They did not find anything at Sanjay Singh’s place still he has been put behind bars without any fault...” said Sushil Gupta.

BSP MP Danish Ali also slammed the central government over the arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh. He said this is an undeclared emergency. He also alleged that the agencies are being misused. “Sanjay Singh was suspended from Rajya Sabha because he was continuously asking questions on Manipur. The government did not like it... This is an undeclared emergency. Today the agencies are being misused. One-sided action is being taken. This is vendetta politics,” said Danish Ali.
