New Delhi: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Faridabad. The victim was sleeping with her siblings when the accused broke into the room and raped her.
The police arrested the accused within half an hour of the incident. An FIR has been registered at Saran police station.
The girl was admitted at Faridabad's Civil Hospital in critical condition and later the victim was referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital.
“My husband and I were sleeping on the roof and my three children in the room. At around 1 am, my younger daughter came to me saying that my elder daughter was bleeding and crying. So I rushed inside,” said the mother of the victim.
Dharna Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) said on getting the information the department immediately constituted a team which nabbed the accused who happened to be one of the neighbours, within half an hour. He hails from Bihar's Buxar and is married.
