New Delhi: The residents of East Delhi's Ashok Nagar protested outside the Kondli police station after carcasses of two cows were found near Kondli Chowk on Monday.
The locals alleged that this is not the first time that remains of the sacred animal was found in the area. Earlier on Friday, the carcass of a cow was found near a drain in Ashok Nagar colony.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, BJP Councillor Rajeev Kumar said, "This is not the first time that the carcasses of our sacred animal have been found in the area. We have registered a complaint about the incident to the Station House Officer (SHO) earlier on Friday. They had said to form a special task force to nab such miscreants. But no step has been taken so far."
Further, he alleged the local police officials of being involved in providing shelters to the criminals responsible for the incident.
However, hundreds of police officials have been deployed to prevent any communal tension in the area.
