New Delhi: Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with Minister of State Rattan Lal Kataria emphasised on public participation in the Yamuna cleaning process, during the 'Our River, Our Future' campaign drive on Monday in the capital.
The event was organised by the Government of India enterprise - WAPCOS Limited. Both the Ministers not only planted trees but also participated in cleaning of Chhath Ghat, Delhi.
While talking exclusively to ETV Bharat, MoS Kataria praised WAPCOS Limited for their contribution towards cleaning of the river Yamuna.
He said: "A lot of steps have already been taken for the cleaning of these ghats. We were told that nearly two and a half years ago, this ghat was full of garbage but with efforts from WAPCOS, it has become a reality. We are hopeful that with more efforts we will attain success one day."
Further, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, "Under PM Modi's guidance, we are not delimiting National Mission for Clean Ganga to Ganga only. We have taken the resolution of cleaning Ganga river basin which fulfils the water requirement of 47% population and provides water to 32% river catchment areas. But, as I have said already it won't be possible until we all participate in it."
