PCR vans in Delhi helping pregnant women with labour pains to reach the hospital. Due to the lockdown, it became difficult for people in emergencies to receive help, and with PCR stepping in, these people in need were able to receive immediate treatment.

New Delhi: Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, Public transport has been banned in the national capital Delhi. Due to this, patients are facing problem to reach the hospital.

In such a situation, police control room vehicles are continuously helping patients and in the last 24 hours, 38 women with labour pains have been taken to various hospitals in New Delhi.

According to DCP Sharat Sinha, public transport has been banned in the capital due to the spread of Coronavirus. People are not able to get auto-taxis to go to the hospital.

There is a lot of burden on ambulances and it is becoming very difficult to be available for every patient.

In such times, the PCR vehicles in Delhi reached the spots, from where the distress calls were made, as quickly as they could and took the pregnant women to hospitals.

So far, more than 290 pregnant women have been taken to the hospitals by PCR vehicles.

Due to the lockdown, people are asked to stay at home and cabs and vehicles aren't playing on the road.

It became difficult for people in emergencies to receive help, and with PCR stepping in, these people in need were able to receive immediate treatment.
