New Delhi: Pawan Jallad, a hangman from the Meerut Prison reported to the Tihar Jail administration on Tuesday, three days ahead of the Nirbhaya case convicts' scheduled execution,Tihar Director General Sandeep Goel said.
He also added that Pawan, a third-generation hangman will be staying inside the Tihar jail premises. He will perform the dummy execution on Wednesday.
The four convicts in the gruesome gang rape and murder case are scheduled to be hanged on March 20 at 5 in the morning. However, Mukesh Singh, one of the convicts filed a plea on Tuesday claiming that he was arrested from Rajasthan and brought to Delhi on December 17, 2012, and was not present in the city on December 16, when the crime took place.

Jail authorities on the other hand have claimed that convicts' execution will not be postponed this time.
Four convicts, Mukesh Singh, Vinay sharma, Akshay Thakur, Pawan Gupta were convicted and sentenced to death for raping a 23 yr-old paramedical student in the national capital on 16 December 2012.
