New Delhi: Experts in India's health domain on Monday reacted sharply over senior advocate Prashant Bhushan's statement that "vaccine is not safe for youth and it's unscientific." Talking to ETV Bharat, renowned health expert and president of Asian Society for Emergency Medicine Dr Tamorish Kole said that his statement is totally personal and not based on scientific facts.

"In the second wave young individuals were equally affected like older ones and patients with co-morbidities. The vaccine is the best defence as of now, globally," said Dr Kole. He said that people should also adopt Covid appropriate behaviour. "All vaccines are tested properly before they are allowed for general use," said Dr Kole.

In several tweets, Bhusan said that the healthy young have hardly had any chance of serious effects or death due to Covid. "But they have a high chance of dying due to vaccines. The Covid recovered have much better natural immunity than the vaccine gives them. The vaccine may even compromise their acquired natural immunity," Bhushan said.
