New Delhi: To make a paradigm shift in the formulation of policies, NITI Aayog has started preparing the draft of Vision Document 2035, which will have a 15-year vision for India starting from 2020.
"We've already come out with an action agenda and strategy document. We will cover all economic and public policy sectors while taking into consideration a much longer time frame. It will involve all the stakeholders, experts, people from within the government and from outside as well," said a senior official of NITI Aayog, who is working on this document, on the condition of anonymity.
Exports, rural income, employment generation are the major focus areas that will be discussed for the preparation of this document. However, a final list of chapters hasn't been prepared yet.
The official added, "Every sector, every vertical will follow a different approach. A number of experts from civil society as well as from private sectors are being identified to draft an outcome-oriented document with policy prescriptions to make a shift in the approach of dealing India's key issues."
According to the sources, PMO has asked NITI Aayog to engage best domain experts to draft Vision Document 2035 as it aims to bring an innovative policy formulation for India, starting from 2020.
PMO has given a clear message to the government think tank, "Routine business will not work. Engage the best Indian and overseas subject experts for consultation while preparing the Document."
A similar document, 'Strategy for New India @75', was prepared by NITI Aayog, taking a target till August 15, 2022. Considering that the government think tank is holding deliberations on important issues such as improving governance, ways to push rural income, focussing on the export sector, measures to boost Industry 4.0, addressing unemployment and underemployment in the country.
