New Delhi: To ensure that social distancing is maintained amid the coronavirus pandemic, a class five student from Delhi has developed a device which can sound an alert if the social distancing norms are violated.
According to Hiten, a resident of Shalimar Bagh, the device has ultrasonic sensors which alert the user with a sound and LED light if someone comes within the range of two feet.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Hiten said: "The user gets alerted when the alarm starts ringing along with LED light. I got the idea to make a device after seeing my school's Facebook page in which it was mentioned that there must be a device for maintaining social distance."

The distance in the device can be increased and decreased through coding, Hiten says.
“I used to watch videos related to ultrasonic devices which produce a high-frequency loud noise. My school seniors working in the ATL lab inspired me to make this device,” Hiten added.
The nine-year-old is a student of Modern Public school and is presently working on an electronic car.
"I completed this device with the help of my parents and teachers," Hiten said.
Hiten loves to watch science-related videos on Youtube and wishes to become a scientist in the future.
