New Delhi: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) team headed by member Jyotika Kalra visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital on Thursday in the wake of allegations of mismanagement in handling patients infected with Coronavirus. The five membered team included doctor, police official and Assistant Registrar (law). The videos of patients lying unattended in hospital emerged on Wednesday.
NHRC on Wednesday also sent notices to Delhi Govt and Union Health ministry after senior Congress leader Ajay Maken filed a complaint regarding shortage of beds for patients and testing process. The commission has asked Delhi Govt and Union Health ministry to file report within 10 days on healthcare facilities and issues raised by Mr Maken.

After on spot inspection of hospital, NHRC member Jyotika Kalra said," Our team is here to figure out if NHRC can in any ways help to improve the condition. We had reports about mismanagement and we tried to find on what what basis patients are denied for treatment and what is status of availability of beds".
