New Delhi: Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said that the Unnao gang rape case should be probed and strict action should be taken against the perpetrators.
Speaking on the issue of serious injury to the Unnao rape survivor, Naqvi said: "Investigation should be done at a deeper level and action must be taken against those responsible."
Naqvi also commented on the issue of MP Azam Khan and said that the decision of the Speaker should be respected.
"The gentleman who gave the statement should take care of the fact that such a mistake should not be repeated," said Naqvi.
Participating in a discussion on the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 on July 25, Khan made a remark directed at Rama Devi, who was presiding over the House, drawing objections from the treasury benches and others too.
