New Delhi: According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the nation's capital will go to polls, in a single phase, from May 12. In this context, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) MP Udit Raj, hailing from the North-West Delhi parliamentary constituency, chose to highlight his achievements during his tenure.
In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Udit Raj claimed that the work done by him, in the past five years, were not executed by any other leader in the past 50 years. "The answer will be given by people, conduct any secret survey, the result will come out," he asserted, expressing confidence over his work.
Elucidating about his development works in Sultanpuri, Mangolpuri, Bawana and other areas, falling under parliamentary constituency and are reportedly considered 'backward', Udit Raj said that he had met more than 300-400 residents to learn about the prevailing issues and had initiated measures to undertake developmental activities to resolve them.
"Based on the feedback, I was on my toes to ensure the development of economically backward areas with infrastructure varying from schools to recreational parks. I created strategies and worked to execute them accordingly," he maintained.
With respect to other developmental activities, Udit Raj added that nearly ten rail over bridges were sanctioned, out of which two were completed and eight others were the pipeline, alongside opening 'open gyms' in more than 150 places.
"In addition to this, I have adopted four villages and transformed them completely," he remarked.
On being asked about the benefit of joining BJP, Udit Raj maintained that the works were done with the support of the party and were not done alone.
"If I get another chance from the party to contest the election, then I will appeal to the people to vote for me based on my work done in the constituency,"
He further said that for the sake of development, he had written more than 16000 letters and 4 lakh phone calls, which was not done by any MP in the past.
