Mukul Rohtagi, Singhvi remain absent for K'taka MLA's petition

The Supreme Court of India said that it will pass an appropriate and dispose of the petition moved by two Karnataka Independent MLAs with the respect to the floor test, only in the presence of the counsels.

New Delhi: The petition seeking immediate floor test in the Karnataka Legislative assembly was not entertained by the Supreme court of India today as the advocates Mukul Rohtagi and Abhishek Manu Singhvi remained absent from the court.

The bench led by Cheif Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said that they will pass the order in their presence.

According to the sources, advocate Mukul Rohtagi was out of Delhi.

Two MLAs had filed a petition regarding the floor test in Supreme court yesterday which the court had scheduled for hearing today.

Yesterday, Singhvi had told the court that the floor test would be completed by today and therefore the court had asked to hear the matter today.

The Karnataka coalition government collapsed yesterday after it failed to prove majority in the house.
