New Delhi: The historic Minto Bridge in central Delhi, which experiences waterlogging every year during monsoon, is on the border of the two civic bodies - the NDMC and the MCD - and the fact that it's an Indian Railway bridge makes it convenient for all parties involved in its upkeep to indulge in the political blame game.

Minto Road, which passes beneath the bridge, connects Connaught Place to the New Delhi Railway Station. On Sunday last, a 56-year-old man, driving a mini-truck, drowned after he was stuck under the waterlogged Minto Bridge following the first heavy monsoon showers in the national capital.

"The Delhi Government is responsible for this situation. It's Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi and there should be a government officer monitoring the situation," he said.
Similarly, Raghav Chadha, an AAP MLA criticised the BJP for the problem, saying the party's headquarter had diverted the drainage pipes, which created the problem.

He, however, said that there should be no political blame game on the issue as there are more problems to deal with it at the moment and all concerned should work unitedly to overcome the situation.
