New Delhi:It was a narrow escape for a youngster as his sister's intervention in a scuffle saved him from a bullet in Laxmi Nagar police station area of East Delhi on Thursday post Holi celebration.
The victim identified as Sunil, a resident of West Guru Angadnagar of Lakshminagar, went outside with his friends last night. At around 11 pm when he was at 'Balaji Kitchen' in Laxmi Nagar, suddenly some men on a scooty arrived there and started an altercation with him and his friends.
When the the situation heated up, Sunil decided to leave the place to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
Following this, the men on the scooty started following him till his home. Later, they thrashed him outside his house. Hearing Sunil screaming, his family came out.
During the fight, the accused started firing at Sunil. Somehow, he managed a narrow escape after his sister intervened in the fight.
While the accused, who opened fire, managed to flee, locals caught another companion of the accused and handed him to the police.
The whole incident was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the locality.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against the scooty-rider and started an investigation into the matter.
