Man carrying Rs 35 lakh held at Delhi metro station

The man identified as Ajmal Bhai was caught at the Tagore Garden Metro Station when the cash was found in his bag during scanning.

New Delhi: A man from Gujarat has been held with rupees 35 lakh in cash as he was entering Tagore Garden Metro Station in Delhi, official sources said.

Identified as Ajmal Bhai, the man was entering the station when his bag, while getting scanned at the entry point, was found containing the unexplained cash.

Police and Income Tax officials were called in after Ajmal Bhai could not explain from where he got the cash from.

A case has been registered after the authorities seized the cash and further probe is on, they added.
