New Delhi: A 25-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at Dwarka after being harassed by agents of an instant loan financing app.
The deceased has been identified as Harish who was found hanging at his home in Sector 8.
According to the deceased's family, Harish had taken a small loan from the app. He was forced to take the extreme step as collection agents did not stop torturing him even after he had repaid 30 times more than the loan amount.
The agents had made a Whatsapp group on Harish's name and sent objectionable messages to his relatives. He couldn't bear the ignominy and ended his life, they added.
However, no official statement has yet come from the police in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that due to harassment and humiliation by instant app-based lenders, at least six people have committed suicide in Telangana by now.
