New Delhi: Vijay Mallya's lawyer on Wednesday challenged the constitutional validity of the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act( FEOA) before the Bombay High Court.
Mallya's lawyer Amit Desai argued in the court that confiscating Mallya's properties under FEOA is like "economic death penalty" to his client.
On April 8, a UK court had denied permission to the liquor baron to appeal against his extradition order to India.
Mallya is facing trial for alleged fraud and money laundering charges amounting to Rs. 9,000 crore.
