New Delhi: With most of the police personnel deployed to deal with coronavirus related responsibilities across the city, the filing of charge-sheets and investigations of cases have taken a back seat during the on-going lockdown and the force would certainly have a lot to attend to once the restrictions, imposed to combat the contagious disease, are withdrawn.

Crime Branch of the Delhi Police is yet to file charge-sheet in the Anaj Mandi fire incident, wherein over 40 people lost their lives. Similarly, investigation and charge-sheet in the violent incidents at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) are also pending.

There are many other cases that require the attention of the Delhi Police but the force cannot afford to divert its attention from the most significant duty and that is to enforce the lockdown in order to prevent coronavirus spread any further and to help people affected by the restrictions.

According to the police officials, investigation and other related works are pending and it would pick up speed only after the lockdown is over.

Police personnel have also been delivering essential items to the public besides manning the entry-exit points in the national capital.
