New Delhi: Lawmaker Prince Raj from the Lok Janshakti Party has said he was 'honey trapped' by a woman with the intention of extorting money, according to reports.
The woman accused Prince Raj, a Member of Parliament representing Samastipur in Bihar of drugging and raping her, and she registered a complaint with the police in Delhi, reports said.
During the investigation, the police found a copy of an FIR dated Feb 10, 2021, which was reportedly filed by Raj against the complainants - Swati Patel and her fiance Amar. In the FIR, Raj alleged that Swati honey-trapped him and demanded a sum of Rs 1 crore. "Under fear of being defamed in public I gave them a total amount of Rs 2 lakh. However, they kept on blackmailing me in order to extort more money," he added.
Along with the FIR, the MP had also given many important evidence to the police including voice recordings and WhatsApp chats of the woman which are being investigated, a police official said.
Sources said, to evade arrest, the woman and her fiance Amar have filed an anticipatory bail application before the court. Police will have to submit its report to the court, before a decision is reached on anticipatory bail, sources said.
