Earlier, the Kisan Morcha had called for celebrating this day as 'Black Day', calling for nationwide protests, but today the Morcha has turned back from its stand. This has been done because May 26 is also the Buddha Purnima. In such a situation, calling May 26 'Black Day' will send a wrong message in the country and the image of the movement may be tarnished again. The Kisan Morcha has also announced to celebrate Buddha Purnima at all picketing sites between 8 am and 10 am. Farmer leaders will start the program only after offering flower garlands to the Buddha statue.

The United Kisan Morcha has appealed that on Wednesday, farmers and common people including the working class across the country will also participate in this demonstration by putting black flags in their homes, offices, shops and public places to protest against the three agricultural laws of the central government.

The Kisan Morcha also plans to burn effigies of PM Modi in different parts of the country. Meanwhile, the mobilisation of farmers at the various protest sites located on the Delhi borders have started on Monday and it is being reported that by 26 May there will be thousands of farmers gathering once again.

The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, the RSS's farmer organization, has protested the May 26 protests by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha. In a statement released by the farmers association on Tuesday, the group said that the Kisan Morcha plans to create fear and terror once again after the 26 January riots.
