New Delhi: Delhi government on Tuesday resent its file on doorstep delivery of ration to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for his approval. The file was sent to Baijal twice earlier but he did not give approval. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court approved the scheme last week in favour of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Delhi government was scheduled to start the doorstep delivery of ration from last March 25. However, the central government raised some objection over the scheme, and the Lieutenant Governor refuse to approve it.
The scheme launched by the Delhi government was named as 'Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Scheme'. Under the scheme, the cardholders would receive ration at their doorstep. The scheme was put on hold after the central government wrote a letter to the Food Supply Secretary of Delhi asking not to start the scheme.
The High Court in its order on September 30 had directed the Delhi government to issue communications to all the fair price shop dealers informing them of the particulars of ration cardholders, who have opted to receive their rations at doorsteps.
