New Delhi: The Arvind Kejriwal government has come up with a Delhi Covid Response Plan on the basis of the recommendations of the V K Paul Committee, which recommended mapping of containment zones again and a strict vigil on activities inside such areas.
The city government would redesign all containment zones after assessing the situation, official sources told ETV Bharat here.
Few days ago after assessing the overall coronavirus situation in the national capital, Union Home Minister Amit Shah advised the Delhi government to implement the recommendations of the V K Paul Committee, which suggested a vigorous contact tracing of COVID-19 positive cases in the city. The committee headed by VK Paul, member Niti Aayog, was set up by Shah on June 14.
The sources said changes would be made in the existing task forces to strengthen and make them more effective. A lot many from other walks of life would be added to these task forces, they said, adding that everything would be done in a time bound manner.
Delhi Chief Minister will himself monitor all preparedness and lead the task forces in the city.
Also, people not following the guidelines in the containment zones would be penalized, they said.
