New Delhi: Transport and Environment minister of Delhi Kailash Gehlot flagged off 100 new cluster buses from Rajghat depot on December 10.
These buses will act as Delhi's traffic facilitators as they are equipped with modern facilities including GPS trackers, CCTV cameras, hydraulic lifts, panic buttons.
Talking to media, Transport minister said, "It is another day of joy for all Delhiites as we have got 100 more new ultra-modern buses, fully equipped with CCTV cameras, GPS, panic buttons and hydraulic lifts for differently-abled. Safety and surveillance features are also present in the buses. Every bus has three CCTV cameras and panic buttons on every alternate seat which on being pressed will enable a hooter to go off ."
The route of the buses are as follows:
- Uttam Nagar to Airport Terminal-2: 20 buses
- IGI Airport to Indralok Metro Station: 20 buses
- Tilak Nagar to Daurala Border: 16 buses
- Lampur Border to Old Delhi Railway Station: 19 buses
- Narela Terminal to Delhi Secretariat: 10 buses
- Holambi Kalan JJ Colony to Shivaji Stadium: 8 buses
- Katewara village to Old Delhi Railway Station: 7 buses
"We also have marshals deployed for women safety in every bus and more buses will be added to the fleet. Our government is committed to adhering to its promise of not just ensuring sufficient and quality public transport, but also strengthening Delhi's overall transport infrastructure," added Gehlot.
