New Delhi: After a road in JNU was named after Veer Damodar Savarkar a few days back creating controversy, some students threw black ink on the name of the Savarkar, and scribbled the name of BR Ambedkar on it, using white spray at about 3-4 am on Tuesday morning.
Aishi Ghosh, president of JNU students union, tweeted that they cannot accept apologists and stooges of the British and said that one should respect the man who gave the Constitution.

We can never ever accept apologists and stooges of the British who undermined our secular fabric. Let's respect those who gave us our constitution. #NoToSavarkar pic.twitter.com/kSKGaNppX5

However, JNU ABVP unit president Shivam Chaurasia on the other hand said that the whole incident is very unfortunate and said that these people have disrespected the very ideas of Ambedkar through their actions.
Chaurasia further said that these people had objections even at the time when the central library in the JNU was being named after BR Ambedkar and now also when the road was named after Veer Damodar Savarkar. This shows the anti national ideology of the left group.
JNU NSUI said that they will protest against the road named after Veer Savarkar.
