New Delhi: Briefing media over the Dhingra Commission report which was submitted on Thursday, Senior party leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar claimed that Congress never took any lead to investigate. Also, the right investigation of these riots never happened.
Javadekar during a press conference at the BJP headquarters said that due to the negligence of Congress Government, there was a delay in the investigation of 1984 Anti Sikh Riots as the government showed no interest in nailing the culprits of the genocide.
Blaming the Congress party, he said it clearly showed in the Dhingra Committee report, in Sultanpur in Delhi, 500 incidents took place but only one FIR was registered, Due to this, the court had to free the miscreants.
Union Minister stated that Police did not act because the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in a way justified the riots stating that when the big tree falls, earth tremors.
Javadekar alleged that the report clearly said that Congress did not take action on the rioters of 1984 hence it was one-way mass-killing.
The Senior BJP lambasted the Delhi government in the Nirbhaya case, saying behind the delay in the hanging of Nirbhaya gangrape convicts, there is the negligence of AAP government.
He further claimed that the Delhi government did not give notice to convicts for nearly two and a half years after the Supreme Court rejected their appeal against death sentence in 2017.
The Delhi government should feel guilty if yet the Nirbhaya gang-rape convicts will not be hanged, he added.
