New Delhi: In a bid to provide free training to the unemployed youths, Jamia Milia Islamia's Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (DTHM) has held a special training cum certificate programme to help youths get employment in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The 10-week training program will be conducted in association with the union government's Ministry of Tourism.
The program which will commence from June 10, aims to provide training in front office management, 'F & B' service and in housekeeping. The training will be given to those above 18 years of age who are educated up to twelfth, tenth and fifth standards.
Information provided by the University stated that those willing to receive training under its programme 'Hunar se rozgaar tak' will have to apply online through the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Apart from this, applicants can also obtain application forms manually from Jamia's Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
There is no fee to fill the form but the applicant will have to submit a photocopy of the bank account and Aadhar card.
During the training, compulsory attendance of the students will be 80% and they will be paid stipend by the central government.
DTHM's head, Namit Chaudhary, said that employment opportunities for the students will increase in the tourism and hospitality industry after getting trained from Jamia Millia Islamia.
