New Delhi: Mediators appointed by the Supreme Court will visit Shaheen Bagh protest site again today.

Both senior advocate Sanjay Hegde and Sadhna Ramchandra had visited Shaheen Bagh on Wednesday in order to initiate talks with the protesters at site. However, no conclusion could be drawn from the interaction.

It is to be noted that the apex court had on February 17, appointed three interlocutors including Sadhna Ramachandran and Wajahat Habibullah, led by senior advocate Sanjay Hegde, to talk to the Shaheen Bagh protestors regarding change in the protest site, and file report in court.

Protesters at Shaheen Bagh on February 16 welcomed the intervention of the Supreme Court in the ongoing protests and said that they are ready to talk to the interlocutors to discuss with them their concerns on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Population Register (NPR) and the proposed National Register of Citizen (NRC).

However, protesters said they were not ready to vacate the site of the protest.
