IMA urges caution amid Covid slowdown in Delhi

Indian Medical Association is seeking immediate release of the vaccine once the trials are over and proven alright. It is expected that vaccination will begin in the month of March or April.

New Delhi: As per the recent trend, the rate of COVID-19 infection has recorded a considerable decrease of 7 per cent in the national capital on Tuesday. Despite the decrease, people should be wary of the disease and adhere COVID-19 protocol strictly, said Dr Rajan Sharma, president of Indian Medical Association to ETV Bharat.

As the RT PCR test rate is reduced to Rs 800, large scale testing is expected, leading to further containment of the disease. In the third wave of COVID-19 infection, about 8000 people were infected on a daily basis. He added that over one lakh eighty-three thousand people were infected in November but they were also cured, depicting positive signs of recovery.

Indian Medical Association has sent a letter to the Prime Minister seeking immediate disposal of the vaccine once the trials are over and proven alright. It is expected that vaccination will begin in the month of March or April. The team of doctors is fully prepared for its delivery and storage.

Dr Sharma told that people should strictly wear masks, maintain a distance of two yards and follow the guidelines to prevent COVID-19.
