New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada on Tuesday told ETV Bharat that she had been a dedicated worker and asserted that her sincerity was intolerable for Samajwadi Party (SP), which was the reason for her expulsion from the party.
"My dedication was not liked by the Samajwadi Party, that is why they had expelled me," the actor said.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Jaya Prada said that, "Samajwadi party would not achieve anything in Uttar Pradesh, even if they formed anumber of alliances."
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said that it does not matter what opposition parties do, as people were chanting "Modi Modi Modi".
On being asked about contesting the election, Prada said that she cannot predict anything now and will follow what party would decide.
Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada joined the BJP on Tuesday and may be fielded by the party from the Rampur parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Jaya Prada, a close associate of former Samajwadi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, had been elected from Rampur on SP ticket twice. If fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Rampur, she will take on senior SP leader Azam Khan.
