New Delhi: Hundreds of air passengers, travelling from New Delhi to Patna, had to sit on the runway of Lal Bahadur Shastri International airport for hours after their plane was diverted in view of bad weather to the city in Uttar Pradesh.
The SpiceJet airline flight SG 8480 was on its way to Patna on the evening of Saturday last when it was diverted to Varanasi airport in view of bad weather in Patna and landed there at 8:10 pm.
The air conditioner system of the plane was not working and the passengers were asked to deboard and wait near the aircraft as it could fly for Patna anytime after getting weather report from the authorities concerned.

The passengers complained that they were neither given any food or water nor allowed to get inside the terminal building and had to wait there in discomfort for four hours.
The plane finally took off from Varanasi to Patna at 12:22 am.
