New Delhi: Emphasizing that grammatical discipline is very important for Hindi, Professor Chandradev Yadav of the Jamia Millia University has said the usage of the language must be increased by simplifying it.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat on the occasion of the Hindi Diwas here, the professor was of the view that the language must be taken to people by converting it into their own.
"It must not remain the language that is just used for translation. It must be simplified and be made the language of the common masses," he said.
The professor was, however, quick to add that discipline must be maintained while using it in any form.
"The kind of Hindi we use in banks or at railway stations is just the language of translation," he said, adding that "no word from any other language should be added into it unnecessarily as it doesn't sound good to ears and it's also not appropriate grammatically".
Talking about the kind of Hindi language being used on social media platforms, he said google Hindi input has helped people like him immensely but people must write their messages in grammatically correct Hindi.
