Himachal CM urges Nitin Gadkari to implement ropeway projects in state

Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur urged Nitin Gadkari to approve a grant ₹500 crore for the implementation of ropeway projects in the state and also urged him to provide liberal assistance under the proposed 'Parvat Mala' scheme.

New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and urged him to approve a grant Rs. 500 crore for the implementation of ropeway projects in the state.

The Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to provide liberal assistance under the proposed 'Parvat Mala' scheme.

Thakur, in an official statement, said: "The state government has decided to use the ropeway system as an alternative eco-friendly transport solution to decongest cities, tribal areas, and high mountainous passes."

He further added that the government has established Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation Limited as a single nodal agency for providing innovative alternative solutions to mobility problems in urban and rural areas of the state.

Additionally, the construction of ropeways is being overhead, mode transportation does not require much land acquisition. This could be executed in a very short span of time.

While asserting that the state needs Central government's assistance, he said the Union Minister Gadkari has assured him to consider the demands of the Himachal Pradesh government.

Various MP representatives from both Central government and state government along with other officials marked their presence in the meeting.

Body:The discussion was primarily based on four lane Road projects of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh has lesser chances of road and air connectivity and majority depends upon Road as mode of transportation so 4 lane projects were discussed in detail with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also MSME projects were discussed with Mr Gadkari. Jairam Thakur also said that Global investors meet will be held on 7th and 8th November 2019 and we are getting good response from investors. apart from tourism we are encouraging other feels like sports, agriculture, Industry for investment.


Conclusion:Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jayram Thakur will also be meeting Rajnath Singh and will be leaving for Ahmedabad.
