Harsh Vardhan urges health fraternity to maintain hygiene

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that cleanliness should be part of our habit and urged the health fraternity to maintain sanitation and hygiene.

New Delhi: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday has appealed public and private health facility providers to inspire and lead community and districts towards achieving the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

"Cleanliness is no more a one time activity but it is integrated in our day to day practices and should become a habit. Kayakalp has played a pivotal role in reinstating and reconfirming trust and confidence of the community in public health facilities," said Dr Vardhan.

The minister has also felicitated central government institutions, district hospitals, community health centres and private hospitals with Kayakalp Awards for their work in maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in public health facilities.

Emphasising that health and hygiene are the top priorities of the Narendra Modi government, Dr Vardhan said, "We must resolve to come together, make concerted efforts and contribute to the vision of a clean India."

As many as 66 district hospitals, PHCs, CHCs, and private hospitals were conferred with Kayakalp Awards.
